Finally, a win for Atromitos!
The Peristeri-based team, having dominated for most of the match, defeated Volos at home by a convincing 3-0 margin and secured their first victory of the season. The home team took the lead in the first half, with Serginho opening the scoring in the 27th minute.
Volos then pressed and missed a few good chances, but not only did they fail to equalize, they also saw the opposing team score a second goal (37’ Moutousami), capitalizing on their numerical advantage following Bournits’s ejection.
Volos continued to play aggressively, resulting in Garido seeing his team reduced to nine players following Furtado’s ejection, a development that made Atromitos’ path to victory much easier. Tsantilas put the icing on the cake in the 90th minute, sealing the final 3-0 score.
With this result, Atromitos moved up to five points, though they remain in second-to-last place, behind only Volos, which—despite having three draws— is still carrying a point deduction penalty.
