Jesús Ovono spoke publicly for the first time following the tragic incident that occurred during the match between Andorra and Tenerife, sending a message of support to the family and loved ones of Jesús de Miguel, who lost his life.

In a statement released by his team, the goalkeeper from Equatorial Guinea described the difficult emotional state he is in, emphasizing that he is still trying to come to terms with what happened. “These are the hardest days of my life,” he said, expressing his grief over the loss of the Tenerife player and his own involvement in the fatal incident.

“It’s hard for me to find the words and to comprehend everything that has happened. I feel immense pain over the loss of Jesús. My thoughts are with him, his family, and everyone who loved him,” he noted, adding that he knows there are issues that will need to be addressed, but at this moment he is unable to think of anything beyond the tragedy. He concluded his message with the phrase “Rest in peace, Jesús.”

Ovono did not participate in Andorra’s optional training session on Wednesday; according to Spanish media reports, he is receiving psychological support and has the backing of the team and his teammates. Meanwhile, Andorra’s match against Mallorca, which was scheduled for Sunday, was postponed following a request from the club.

A message from Jesús Ovono:

“These are the hardest days of my life. It’s very difficult for me to find the words and come to terms with what has happened. I feel immense pain over the loss of Jesús. My thoughts are with him, his family, and all the people who loved him.

I know there are many issues that will need to be addressed, and I will handle whatever arises with the utmost respect. Right now, however, honestly, I can’t think of anything else besides Jesús and the pain we’re all experiencing.
