The pro-Iranian Houthis in Yemen said Saturday that they had launched missile and drone attacks against Riyadh Airport and military and oil facilitiesin the kingdom, in retaliation for Saudi Arabia’s deadly airstrikes.
The Yemeni movement, which is fighting against the Saudi-led coalition supporting the Yemeni government, targeted oil facilities belonging to the oil giant Aramco, Houthi military spokesman Yahya Sharia told X.
Earlier on Saturday, media outlets affiliated with the Houthis reported the deaths of 22 people in Saudi airstrikes in the Sanaa area, which is controlled by the pro-Iranian movement.
Following the Houthis’ nearly daily missile and drone attacks against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in October, the fighting appears to have intensified in recent days on Yemeni soil.
“The death toll from the massacre carried out by the air force of its Saudi enemy (…) has risen to 22 people, including women and children, and the number of wounded to 30,” reported the Saba News Agency, a tally also cited by the Almasirah television channel.
