Pieros Sotiriou sent his own message to mark APOEL’s 100th anniversary!
The Cypriot forward described the club as a part of his life and family, recalling his first stint with the club from 2013 to 2017—including the league titles and the historic run to the Europa League Round of 16—and spoke about his return.
In detail: “For me, APOEL isn’t just a team. It’s a part of my life, my history, and my family. Ever since 2013, when I first put on the blue-and-yellow jersey, I’ve experienced moments that will stay with me forever. Championships, memorable European nights, and a historic run to the Round of 16 in the Europa League. I left in 2017, but a piece of my heart has always remained here. In 2025, I returned to where I feel I belong.
Today, as our APOEL celebrates its 100th anniversary, I know that not everything is easy. But true love is revealed in difficult times. Now is the time for all of us to take the club by the hand, stand by its side, and lift it even higher. I am certain that better days are ahead. Because APOEL still has many centuries of history left to write.
Today we’re all celebrating the Legend’s 100th anniversary together. But when the match begins, for 90 minutes we’ll put the celebration aside, stand by our players, and become their source of strength. With our voices and our souls, all together, for victory!
Happy birthday, my APOEL.”
