Marousi-Olympiacos: The “Red-and-Whites” aim for a perfect record at the Agios Thomas Indoor Arena

He wants to go 6-for-6
ALPHANEWSLIVE

The sixth round of the Stoiximan GBL will come to a close at the Agios Thomas Indoor Arena, with Marousi hosting Olympiacos (5:30 p.m.) in what promises to be a very interesting game.

The team from the Northern Suburbs is coming off its first win of the season, having secured a victory last week in its home game against Promitheas (87-76). Prior to that game, they had suffered four consecutive losses to AEK, Mykonos, Aris, and Peristeri, boasting one of the league’s worst offenses with 74.8 points per game.

On the roster, Ilias Papatheodorou has only one absence to contend with—the injured Christos Iordanou—while Zeb Jackson’s availability will be decided at the last minute.

On the other hand, the “Red-and-Whites” are coming off a 62-57 home loss to Red Star two days ago. Far from their best, Giorgos Bartzokas’s team played the worst first half in their EuroLeague history and inevitably suffered the loss, despite a valiant effort at the end to stage an epic comeback.

In the domestic league, they have a perfect record after the first five games; however, they have 8 points due to a -2 penalty carried over from last year’s finals. Only Olympiacos and PAOK remain undefeated in the Stoiximan GBL.

On the court, Olympiacos will be without Dorsey and Montero, as well as Tyreke Jones, who has been cut from the eight-man foreign player roster. It should be noted that, for the time being, there has been no change to the “Red-and-Whites’” roster, with John Konchar taking the place of Montero, who will be out for several months.
