Neuranet Solutions Ltd, the Cypriot company that developed PyroGuard AI, was honored with the 2025 Cyprus Innovation Award in the Services category, organized by the Federation of Employers and Industrialists (OEB).
The award was presented by the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Nicos Christodoulides, to the founder and CEO of Neuranet Solutions, William Demetriou, during the awards ceremony held on October 26, 2026, at the Nicosia Municipal Theater.
Designed and developed in Cyprus, PyroGuard AI combines artificial intelligence, a network of surveillance cameras, and a control center staffed around the clock to detect the earliest visible signs of fire. Operators assess the alerts and notify the relevant authorities of confirmed incidents, providing valuable time for them to mobilize.
“This award recognizes the work of a team that strives to give communities and emergency services more time to respond,” said William Demetriou. “Our goal has always been practical: to detect the first signs of a fire, confirm what’s happening, and relay the information to those who can intervene. Every minute we save can make a difference.”
According to Neuranet Solutions, PyroGuard AI has detected well over 200 actual fires in a timely manner in 2026 alone. The company reports that, in the majority of these incidents, the control center notified the relevant authorities nearly an hour before the first report from a citizen.
Network Expansion in Cyprus and Greece
PyroGuard AI currently has 70 installations serving three municipalities and nearly 40 community councils throughout Cyprus. The network stretches from the Famagusta District, through Larnaca, Limassol, and Nicosia, to Paphos, including an installation in Polis Chrysochous.
Neuranet Solutions has signed memorandums of understanding with the Limassol and Famagusta District Local Government Organizations. The signing of a similar agreement with the Larnaca District Local Government Organization is expected during the week beginning November 2, 2026.
PyroGuard AI is growing rapidly, with network expansion, new partnerships, and installations already underway in Greece, in collaboration with the Argos Group. Neuranet Solutions expects to reach 100 installations in Cyprus by the end of 2026. The 70 existing installations, however, are insufficient to meet the country’s needs. The company estimates that a total of approximately 450 installations are needed, highlighting the need for further expansion to protect more communities.
“We thank the OEB for this recognition, our team for their dedication, and the municipalities, communities, and partners who have placed their trust in us,” added Mr. Dimitriou.
