The 43-year-old man in Limassol claimed to have thrown the body of the unfortunate 61-year-old woman into a well.

According to an official statement from the police, following investigations by the Limassol Criminal Investigation Department into a case under investigation involving kidnapping with the intent to commit premeditated murder, and as part of the ongoing interrogations, the 43-year-old suspect made a confession to investigators regarding the commission of the murder.

It should be noted that this concerns the case of the disappearance of Olga Vasileva, in Limassol, with the 43-year-old suspect—who, according to witness accounts, had been in a relationship with the 61-year-old woman—currently in custody.

According to the police, the 43-year-old pointed out a specific location to investigators where, he stated, he had thrown the missing woman’s body into a well.

Members of the Limassol Criminal Investigation Department are at the site, which has been placed under police control, while the necessary steps are being taken to search the well and recover the body.

Investigations are proceeding at an intensive pace, with the aim of fully ascertaining all the facts and circumstances of the case.

The police will issue a further official update when the progress of the investigation makes this possible.
