ALPHANEWSLIVE

The Ministry of Health is promoting an increase in the number of subsidized fertility treatments from four to five, while maintaining the state subsidy at €4,500 per treatment, is being promoted by the Ministry of Health, with a corresponding allocation of 7 million euros to be included in its 2027 budget.

According to remarks made on Friday by Health Minister Neophytos Charalambides during the presentation of the Ministry’s budget before the Parliamentary Committee on Finance, the infertility subsidy program will continue in 2027, with the relevant budget allocation amounting to 7 million euros.

At the same time, the Minister announced that a proposal from the Ministry of Health to revise the existing program will soon be submitted to the Cabinet, which calls for increasing the number of subsidized attempts from four to five.

The proposal also calls for maintaining the subsidy at €4,500 per treatment cycle, without the reductions currently applied to subsequent cycles, so that the amount of state support remains stable.

The issue of revising the infertility subsidy program was raised during the budget debate by the Chair of the Parliamentary Health Committee, DISY MP Savia Orphanidou, during the budget debate, calling for an increase in financial support and an expansion of the number of subsidized treatment cycles from four to five.
