According to information received by KYPE, the family sent a letter to the Chief of Police, Themistos Arnaoutis, in which they refer to being “targeted” and subjected to “daily taunts, in a threatening tone,” through social media posts by both the accused and individuals associated with them.
The family of Thanasis Nikolaou is requesting that police protection be provided to her, both during their presence in court for the hearing and during their commute from their home to the courthouse and back.
It should be noted that the indictment includes medical examiner Panikos Stavrianos, former Limassol Police Director Andreas Iatrou, former head of the Limassol Criminal Investigation Department Nikos Sophocleous, former head of the Rural Police Christakis Nathanail, and former head of the Platres police station complex, Christakis Kapiliotis.
