A low-power explosive device was responsible for the explosion that occurred at 3:00 a.m. at a tavern in Pyrgos, Limassol.
According to Limassol CID Chief Costas Michael, as determined by on-site examinations conducted by bomb disposal experts and members of the Limassol Police Department, the explosion was caused by a metal explosive device containing a low-yield explosive that had been placed at the entrance to the tavern.
The explosion caused extensive damage to the facade and interior of the tavern.
It should be noted that, according to reports, the tavern is owned by a 60-year-old man—the father of an individual who has been the subject of an investigation by the authorities and is currently on trial at the Central Court.
