It is with great pleasure that Stand In Line Gallery invites you to the opening of the solo exhibition by the acclaimed artist Nikos Kourousis, titled “Metamorphoses.”
Opening: Saturday, November 14, 2026, at 7:00 p.m., hosted by Ms. Olivia Papadaki.
Exhibition dates: November 14 – December 5, 2026
The Philosophy of the Exhibition
With an artistic career spanning more than six decades, Nikos Kourousis continues to approach art as a living space of ceaseless exploration and experimentation, where matter, forms, and their interrelationships are in constant flux.
As the artist himself notes in the introductory note to the exhibition catalog:
“The concept of transformation runs through much of my work. Matter transforms, forms are reconfigured, and elements take on new relationships with one another. Space and time are not merely the framework of the work, but actively participate in its formation and evolution.”
The exhibition features two-dimensional and three-dimensional works that highlight the ongoing process of material transformation and the creation of new forms through the combination of different materials. The works reflect a visual exploration that is not limited to fixed forms or predetermined interpretations, but remains open to new possibilities and approaches.
Without directing the viewer toward a specific interpretation, the artist allows the works to develop their own autonomy, inviting the audience to discover personal interpretations, associations, and symbolism. The very concept of transformation thus functions not only as a characteristic of the artistic process, but also as a starting point for an open viewing experience.
