A serious case of alleged sexual abuse of a minor is being investigated by police authorities in Chania, where a 16-year-old boy is accused of repeatedly raping a 15-year-old girl with whom he grew up under the same roof. A 54-year-old woman has also been arrested in connection with the case.
According to available information, the two minors lived in the same household but were not related by blood. The 15-year-old was being raised in the family under a foster care arrangement, while the 16-year-old had been adopted.

The 2019 Allegation of Abuse
According to the complaint filed with the police, the 16-year-old’s alleged abusive behavior toward the girl had begun as early as 2019.
Initially, according to the allegations, the minor engaged in unwanted touching of the 15-year-old.
The situation reportedly worsened over the past two years, during which time—again, according to the complaint—the 16-year-old engaged in sexual acts with the minor.
After the case was reported to the relevant authorities, the prescribed procedures were initiated, and the 16-year-old was charged with repeated rape.
The arrest of the 54-year-old woman and developments in the case
As part of the police investigation, a 54-year-old woman was also arrested. So far, based on the available information, it has not been clarified what the exact charge against her is, nor what specific role she is alleged to have played in the case.
According to reports, those involved have been released pending the trial.
The case is now in the hands of the courts, which are called upon to examine the allegations and determine the circumstances under which the incidents against the minor allegedly took place.
