Douvikas explained the… miracle of Como: “We’re hungry for more.”

The greek player was the undisputed star

Tassos Douvikas put on an impressive performance with Como against Lens in Matchday 4 of the Champions League group stage, scoring a hat trick and providing an assist.

The 27-year-old forward scored in the 7th, 32nd, and 57th minutes, and in the 40th minute, he set up Paz with an assist. In 61 minutes (he was substituted out of the match), he did whatever he wanted and propelled the Italian team to victory.

With these three goals, the Greek international has now scored 11 goals in 14 appearances for Como and has six goals in this year’s Champions League.

Despite his personal success, the international forward remained humble in his post-match comments, placing greater importance on his team’s victory than on his hat trick.

“A wonderful night for us; we’re happy with the win and my three goals. I’m happy, but the most important thing is the three points; we want to keep this up in the next match. It’s an honor to be here, and I’m happy that my teammates are helping me so much—it’s great news. This is my first year in the Champions League, but I think the whole team has played well in every match.

We’re always creating chances and dominating the field; I don’t know how that’s possible in our first year, but we’re doing it. I think the team’s mindset is there—we try to maintain possession, move forward, and attack quickly.

Today we created a lot of chances, and that’s the style we want to adopt. We’re really hungry, and when you win, you always want more. Now we have six straight wins, and we’re hungry for more games. The next one against Inter? We’ll enjoy the evening and then think about it.”
