AEK earned high praise from Jude Bellingham for its outstanding performance against Real Madrid, which needed a… flaming shot by Fede Valverde in the 92nd minute to escape from Nea Filadelfia (2-3).
“It was a wonderful goal by Valverde. We had to battle against a great team like AEK and take the three points,” said the English midfielder.

“I’m proud of my teammates. We worked hard to secure this victory. We had possession of the ball and created chances. I think we were in complete control throughout the match. AEK had two good attacks and scored two goals, but I believe we were in complete control of the game,” he added.
As for the goal he scored with an incredible backheel to tie the game at 1-1? “It was something different. An excellent cross from Koukoureya, and I finished the play with a backheel,” he commented.
"It was just instinct, really… I found myself in a good position and managed to do the only thing that came naturally in that position." Jude Bellingham discusses his backheel goal and the comeback win for Real Madrid against AEK Athens
