An awesome and formidable Olympiacos painted the “eternal” derby against Panathinaikos “red and white” (89-63), in the 5th round of the women’s basketball league, shattering the “Greens’” perfect record and sending a powerful message in every direction.
Olympiacos was coming off two consecutive losses, first a nail-biter against PAOK (69-65) in the league and then a defeat by Mersin (62-89) in the Women’s EuroCup. As a result, they were looking to bounce back and return to winning ways, which they achieved in the most dominant fashion. The team showed determination and dominated, putting their previous disappointing performances behind them.

On the other hand, Panathinaikos, despite being on a high after seven consecutive wins, failed to rise to the occasion and was unable to compete for most of the game.
With this victory, they climb to 2nd place in the standings and overtake Panathinaikos on points.
