PAOK tried to pull off the impossible in Turkey, but the epic comeback they attempted against Bahçeşehir never came to fruition (84-81), and the “Double-Headed Eagle of the North” suffered its second EuroCup loss on Turkish soil in the competition’s fifth round.
The Turks, at the start of the fourth quarter and with PAOK trailing by 2 (63-61), went on an impressive 15-0 run, widening the lead (78-61). At that point, everything seemed lost for the “black-and-whites,” but Cedi Osman showed no signs of giving up. Andreas Trinchieri’s players, led by the Turkish player, fought epic battles on the court and managed to close the gap to just one point against Bahçeşehir (82-81), setting the game ablaze.
However, the home team kept their composure at the crucial moments and sealed the victory with a final score of 84-81. As a result, they climbed to the top of Group 4 with a 4-1 record, while PAOK remained in third place with a 3-2 record, paying dearly for their poor start to the final quarter.
