The Cyprus Confederation of Organizations for People with Disabilities has reacted strongly to a video on TikTok in which individuals urge a person with a disability to expose his genitals.
“Shame, nothing but shame!” the CYSOA states in a press release, noting that “a person with Down syndrome is being publicly humiliated, and the relevant authorities remain inactive. It is puzzling why the Cybercrime Division has not taken substantive action, when even a simple investigation on social media could lead to the identification of those involved.”

At the same time, she emphasizes that human dignity is non-negotiable, calling for an immediate investigation into the case, the protection of the affected individual, and accountability.
“The public humiliation of a person with Down syndrome is not ‘content.’ It is ABUSE.”

It should be noted that the police are already aware of the incident, following a complaint from a citizen, and the case is being investigated by the Cybercrime Division.
According to the police, at first glance, it appears that the person being urged to expose his genitals is a minor.
