The police have issued a statement regarding the case that has come to light, involving a child with a disability being encouraged to expose his genitals on TikTok.

According to a statement, the police say they are investigating “with the utmost seriousness the case involving audiovisual material, which appears to have been broadcast live via a social media platform and in which individuals are seen encouraging a minor to engage in acts that violate his dignity.”

As soon as the incident came to the attention of the police, members of the Cybercrime Sub-Directorate began investigating it, evaluating the available digital and other evidence and taking the necessary steps to identify the individuals who appear in or may be involved in the case.

The Police fully understand the concern this case has caused in society. The investigation is proceeding with care and methodically, in accordance with established procedures and with particular caution due to the involvement of a minor, it is noted.

Upon completion of the investigation and based on the evidence gathered, an assessment will be made as to whether criminal offenses have been committed, and if so, the procedures provided for by law will be followed.

Due to the nature of the case and the involvement of a minor, the Police urge the public to act with particular responsibility and to refrain from further reproducing or disseminating the relevant audiovisual material.
