The three individuals arrested in connection with the murder of the infant in Kypseli are scheduled to appear before the investigating magistrate today, following the filing of criminal charges—depending on the circumstances—for intentional homicide, for sexual acts against the 15-year-old, and other offenses. Reports indicate that all three are expected to request and be granted an extension to prepare their defense.
The suspects appeared before the investigating judge on Wednesday (September 2) regarding the drugs found in the home, claiming that they had never trafficked narcotics. Specifically, the 43-year-old claimed he is a drug addict and requested to undergo the relevant testing.

For her part, the woman denied the charges, claiming she is innocent. “The drugs were for my own use. I appeal to the leniency of the Greek justice system,” she noted. When asked about the dead infant that authorities found in a suitcase inside the apartment where she lived with her two co-defendants, she reportedly replied: “I always wanted to have my child with me; I couldn’t accept his death.” She also reportedly stated that she was addicted to drugs and requested that a relevant expert evaluation be conducted.
Finally, the 26-year-old Afghan man, during his own statement to the investigating judge, said he knew nothing about the dead infant. “I looked after the children three times a week. I know nothing about the dead child. I hadn’t seen any money in the house,” he reportedly claimed, among other things.
The dead infant was the couple’s child
At the same time, tests on biological material revealed that the 43-year-old man and the 38-year-old woman are the biological parents of three of the four children found in the home. Specifically, it was determined that the couple are the parents of the 15-year-old, the 12-year-old, and the deceased infant. As for the 9-year-old, however, it turned out that he is the son of the 38-year-old German woman but not of the 43-year-old man.
Regarding the case, the children reported that all they knew was that the baby had died and was in the freezer, but they had no further details about the circumstances surrounding the incident. Authorities are seriously considering the possibility that the children were not at home at the time of the murder. At the same time, however, the authorities continue to scrutinize the behavior of the family’s daughter, as police believe she knows more than she is revealing to them.
