The two pilots of the Phantom that crashed in Tanagra have been killed. The pilots belonged to the 117th Fighter Wing in Andravida. The two Air Force officers did not have time to activate their ejection systems.

It all happened around 3 p.m. during the Athens Flying Week airshow in Tanagra when the two-seat Phantom (F-4) aircraft crashed.
Authorities had no indication that the aircraft’s ejection mechanism had been activated. So far, there are no images from the rescue team that rushed to the scene to investigate. At the crash site, where a fire broke out immediately, two ambulances and two EKAB emergency vehicles responded promptly.
