APOEL’s post:
It’s certainly not the first time…
“We’re confident the penalty will be rescinded…”
We’re truly tired of seeing this barrage of announcements from AEL regarding Kafou’s ejection. A player who, instead of coming forward and apologizing for his unsportsmanlike conduct—spitting on another professional soccer player— is being presented to us as Saint Mary and is even demanding justice. And because this “spectacle” of inaccuracies and spin must stop, everything will come to light.
The AEL player not only spat but also verbally abused the referee. His lack of ethics, as well as his team’s attempt to cover for him, is unprecedented. To cover for a player who brings shame upon AEL itself—a club that apparently is unaware that this player has exhibited such behavior before and has been punished for the same reason: spitting at an opponent. On March 16, 2019, during the Legia Warsaw–Śląsk Wrocław match, he spat at Arkadiusz Piech, a player who also played for AEL. An action that earned him a three-match suspension from the Polish Football Association for attempting to spit. And the funny thing is that this player used exactly the same rhetoric to cover for himself back in 2019 as well. The exact same excuses. If it’s even possible, this player is also demanding justice. An official statement from APOEL FOOTBALL (PUBLIC) LTD will follow regarding all other matters.”
