Olympiacos player Sasha Vezenkov is featured in a EuroLeague special, marking the countdown to the first tip-off of the new season.
The “Red-and-Whites’” forward looked back on last year’s European title win, while also addressing the current state of the Piraeus-based team, focusing on the signing of Jan Montero.
Vezhenkov commented on Montero’s decision to join Olympiacos in an interview that links memories from last season with the new chapter unfolding for the Piraeus-based team.
Here is what he said in detail:
On winning the EuroLeague:
“Memories. An incredible night, an incredible three days for us. Winning the EuroLeague was our goal, our dream. In the end, we did it. Every year is different. That’s the beauty of sports. No one remembers the past. No one knows what the future holds. So we have to live in the present. It’s good for our legacy, for our reputation, but we have to fight again.”
On the signing of Jan Montero:
“The way he plays makes everything look easy. Last year was his first season in the EuroLeague, and he showed so much. He came to help us, and we’re here to help him. He brings something different.”
