Averof Neophytou, the party’s former president, is reportedly seeking signatures of support from Democratic Rally officials and supporters, in order to participate in the internal party process to select Pindarou’s candidate for the 2028 presidential election.
This was revealed on the “Alpha News” program by DISY Deputy Press Secretary Elena Kousiou, stating that two people close to her had informed her that they were asked to sign the relevant form prescribed by the party’s Political Bureau, as a prerequisite for participating in the election process.
“They requested the form for signatures from the members; 100 of whom must be from the Supreme Council, and I asked permission from the people who called me yesterday to say that they had been approached by Mr. Averoff’s office to sign.”

When asked if there is a fourth candidate interested in running in the Pindarou elections, Ms. Kousiou said she was unaware and explained that so far, Anita Dimitriou, Averof Neophytou, and George Pamborides have publicly declared their candidacy.
It should be noted that nominations will be submitted on October 26, and the internal party elections will take place on November 28.
