Starting October 26, 2026, “Digital Citizen” will feature a new feature that helps citizens track the expiration dates of their documents and ensure they are renewed in a timely manner.
As stated in an announcement from the Deputy Ministry of Research, Innovation, and Digital Policy, citizens automatically receive notifications on their cell phones 30 and 15 days before the expiration of the documents they have added to the app, as well as on the day of expiration.

If a citizen has already obtained a new document, upon logging into the app after receiving the notification, they are automatically guided through the process of integrating the new document into “Digital Citizen,” it is added.
Expired documents remain visible in the app until they are replaced or deleted.
According to the announcement, the app continues to be enhanced with new features, and within the next few days, the addition of foreign resident permits will be announced, and within the year, tickets for sporting events are scheduled to be added, complementing the Fan Card that is already available in the app.
It should be noted that the goal of “Digital Citizen” is to facilitate citizens’ daily transactions by offering immediate access to their documents via their cell phones.
The Deputy Ministry encourages citizens to make use of the app and, should they encounter difficulties in having their digital documents accepted, to report the issue via email at [email protected].
Please note that digital documents created through “Digital Citizen” have the same legal validity as their corresponding physical documents but do not constitute international travel documents.
