Clashes broke out on Saturday afternoon (October 31) in Paris between protesters and police officers who had gathered in the French capital.
According to bfmtv, the clashes broke out when the demonstration reached the Porte de Sarandon. There, dozens of people wearing masks and dressed in black used hammers to pry up paving stones from the sidewalks, among other thingsand then threw the pieces at the police officers.

In addition, an incendiary device was thrown at the police officers, who responded by firing tear gas and charging with batons.
According to the Prefectural Police Headquarters, toward the end of the march, a “hard-core group of several hundred rioters” attacked law enforcement officers, “throwing projectiles, including a Molotov cocktail,” as they “worked to put an end to the disturbance of public order.” “Furthermore, the dispersal of the demonstration is proceeding without difficulty,” the report stated.
