A new step in the greek market
ALPHANEWSLIVE

The Cypriot dairy company ALAMBRA, the world’s largest producer and exporter of halloumi, is expanding its presence in the Greek market, by placing ALAMBRA halloumi in the Sklavenitis and Masoutis supermarket chains. These two new partnerships complement the company’s 15-year partnership with AB Vassilopoulos, ensuring a presence in three of Greece’s largest retail chains.

This expansion represents a significant step for the growth of the ALAMBRA brand in Greece, broadening its distribution network and bringing its halloumi closer to more consumers. An authentic Cypriot product with Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) status, combining Cyprus’s cheese-making tradition with the expertise of a family-owned business with an international presence.

From Alambra in Cyprus to more than 45 countries

The company’s journey began in 1982, in the village of Alambra, Cyprus, when the Petrou family began producing dairy products, drawing on the knowledge and traditional recipes of Grandma Kakoullou. In 1988, the first shipment of halloumi was exported to England, paving the way for the company’s international expansion.

More than four decades later, the company exports to over 45 countries, having evolved into a global leader in the production and export of halloumi. Its growth is based on a combination of Cypriot cheese-making traditions and modern production methods, investments in technological upgrades, and a steadfast commitment to quality and food safety.

Today, the company is a modern Cypriot dairy enterprise with strong production and commercial operations, as well as a product range exceeding 300 SKUs. Under the brand names ALAMBRA and “I Giagia,” it produces and markets halloumi, fresh and dried anari, traditional yogurt, ayran, trahana and trimm, while its product range also includes ALAMBRA Fresh Cypriot Milk, MOO Chocolate Milk, goat’s milk and organic milk, plant-based beverages, and juices. Its product lineup is complemented by a wide selection of imported cheeses, such as feta, Kefalotyri, Edam, and Gouda, highlighting the breadth of a company that combines expertise in Cypriot dairy products with continuous expansion into new categories.

A New Step into the Greek Market

The presence of ALAMBRA halloumi in Greece’s major supermarket chains—AB Vassilopoulos, Sklavenitis, and Masoutis, marks a significant milestone for the brand’s growth and further consolidation in the Greek market.

As the only authentic Cypriot halloumi brand with a presence in the organized Greek retail sector, ALAMBRA is strengthening its momentum and creating strong prospects for further growth.

Leveraging its many years of expertise in the production of authentic Cypriot halloumi, the high quality of its products, and its extensive experience in international markets, the ALAMBRA dairy company continues to invest in the Greek market, bringing the authentic Cypriot cheese-making tradition closer to the daily dining tables of Greek consumers.
