Back to losing ways: Heat crushed by Lakers despite Antetokounmpo’s 30-point performance (VIDEO)

A rough landing for hit with the lakers
ALPHANEWSLIVE

The Lakers brought the Heat back down to earth with a bump. Erik Spoelstra’s team saw its two-game winning streak in the NBA come to an abrupt end… abruptly, suffering a heavy 138-117 loss to the Lakers at the Staples Center and dropping to 3-4.

Giannis Antetokounmpo gave it his all and finished with 30 points (10-for-15 from the free-throw line, 10-for-14 from the field, 0-for-3 from three-point range), 12 rebounds, 7 assists, 1 steal, 2 blocks, but also 7 turnovers. Klay Thompson followed with 19 points and 4-for-7 from three-point range, but Miami’s defense was… disheartening.

Luka Dončić was unstoppable with 42 points (8-for-10 from the free-throw line, 8-for-9 on two-pointers, 6-for-15 from three-point range), 13 assists, 7 rebounds, and 2 steals for the home team, which pulled away in the third quarter with a 32-21 run. Austin Reaves, with 27 points, was the Slovenian superstar’s key contributor for the Lakers, who improved to 6-2, while Walker Kessler had 15 points and 15 rebounds.

The Heat continue their Western Conference road trip by facing the Clippers in LA early Thursday morning (5:30 a.m.), while on the same day the Lakers will play the Kings (5:00 a.m.).

Quarter scores: 37-30, 79-72, 112-93, 138-117
