Olympiacos: Al-Ghuathil refreshes the starting 11 with ren

Imanol Alguacil is expected to make extensive lineup changes for tomorrow’s match between Olympiacos and Rennes (5:30 p.m.) in the fourth matchday of the Europa League group stage.

The Basque coach is by no means underestimating the match against the French team, but he feels it is necessary to give his team a rest ahead of Sunday’s derby against PAOK at the “G. Karaiskakis” Stadium. After all, the “Red-and-Whites’” 3-0 record in the competition so far affords them that luxury.

Ortega will remain in goal, while in the back four we may see Karmo in place of Pirola and Saliaka in place of Pedersen, as well as Bruno in place of Tiknizian. Retsos is unlikely to be left out of the starting lineup. For the midfield duo, Ese and Puerta appear to be the top choices, with Zelson on one wing and the other two positions up for grabs between Tsikinio, Zota, Fortounis, and Sa. Bailey will most likely come off the bench again. Up front, Gonzalez may start this time in place of Yaremchuk.

It should be noted that Popovic, Sipioni, Roca, Clayton, and Marius are not on the European roster, as is, of course, the injured El Kaabi.

The Olympiacos squad departs for France this morning, and at 7:00 p.m., Imanol Alguacil and Remo Froiler will speak at a press conference. An hour later (8:00 p.m.), the final training session will take place at “Roazhon Park.”
