The schedule for Cypriot teams today, Tuesday, November 3, and tomorrow, Wednesday, November 4, includes four European matches. Keravnos Strovolos and Petrolina AEK continue their campaigns in the FIBA Europe Cup, while AEL has two teams in action: the men’s team in the European North Basketball League and the women’s team in the EuroCup Women.
TRIA EKA AEL Hosts TalTech at “Nikos Solomonides”
TRIA EKA AEL takes the court first, hosting TalTech from Estonia today, Tuesday, at 7:00 p.m. at the “Nikos Solomonides” Arena. The match marks the Limassol team’s third game this season in the European North Basketball League.
AEL has gotten off to a perfect start in the tournament, with two wins in as many games, while Tal Tech stands at 2-1. The Limassol team also has a +36 point differential after its first two games in Group B.
A tough road trip to France for Keravnos
Shortly thereafter, at 9:00 p.m. Cyprus time, Keravnos Strovolos faces SLUC Nancy Basket on the road for the 5th round of Group D of the FIBA Europe Cup. The game will take place at the Palais des Sports “Jean Weille” in Nancy.
The group standings make this matchup particularly intriguing, as Nancy, Keravnos, and King Szczecin each have three wins and one loss after the first four rounds. The French team has a 3-1 record, as do the Red-and-Yellows, with the three teams tied for first place.
In Thessaloniki, Petrolina AEK
On Wednesday at 7:30 p.m., Petrolina AEK faces Heraklis Thessaloniki as part of Matchday 5 of Group E of the FIBA Europe Cup.
The Cypriot champions are 3-1 after the first four games and are tied for first place in the group with Dziki Warszawa. Heraklis follows with a 2-2 record, as do Würzburg and Tartu, making this matchup particularly important for the group’s future.
Petrolina AEK has three wins so far against Würzburg, Dziki Warszawa, and Tartu, while its only loss came on the road against MZT Skopje.
A New Challenge for the AEL Women’s Team
The European schedule wraps up on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at the “Spyros Kyprianou” Arena, where the AEL women’s team will host Zabiny Brno for the fourth matchday of Group A in the EuroCup Women.
