The “Double-Headed Eagle of the North” is back in European action and preparing for yet another important match, hosting Roma with the goal of returning to winning ways in the competition.
PAOK is one of the top favorites to win the tournament and wants to prove it in every match. So far, however, Andrea Trinchieri’s team has struggled to find its footing, with three wins and two losses in the competition.
In the previous round, PAOK traveled to Turkey to face Bahçeşehir and suffered an 84-81 loss, failing to rise to the occasion. This was followed by an away victory in the Thessaloniki derby against Iraklis, 63-53, though their performance was far from impressive. Now, the “black-and-whites” want to put their European defeat behind them and get back on track, starting with the match against Roma.
On the opposing side, Roma finds itself in a rather difficult position, with a 2-3 record in the EuroCup. In fact, the Italians were coming off a four-game losing streak across all competitions, but they managed to get back on track with a 103-90 victory over Scafati.
The matchup is particularly important for both teams, as they are both seeking stability and a return to form. PAOK aims to capitalize on its home-court advantage and the support of its fans to take another important step in its European campaign.
