The meeting between the President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, and the Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary-General, María Ángela Olguín, lasted thirty minutes.
“I came to ask him a few questions,” Ms. Olguín said as she left the Presidential Palace, explaining that this was the reason the meeting was brief.
She noted that these were specific questions, which she preferred to ask him in person rather than over the phone.
She added that she is expected to meet again with Turkish Cypriot leader Tufan Erhürman tomorrow, Wednesday.
“We hope to have good news,” Ms. Olgin added.
