A detailed weather forecast through saturday
ALPHANEWSLIVE

A weak low-pressure system is affecting the region. Scattered dust will be suspended in the atmosphere, but it will gradually subside starting tomorrow.

Tonight, the weather will be generally clear, though locally increased cloud cover will be observed in the west and north, which may later lead to isolated showers. Winds will be mainly southwesterly to northwesterly, light and occasionally moderate, 3 to 4 on the Beaufort scale. The sea will be calm to slightly rough. Temperatures will drop to around 14 degrees inland, around 16 on the southern and eastern coasts, around 18 degrees on the western and northern coasts, and around 8 degrees in the higher mountainous areas.

Tomorrow morning, increased cloud cover will be observed mainly in the western half of the island, which is expected to bring scattered showers or even isolated brief thunderstorms in some areas. Gradually, the weather will become partly cloudy and temporarily overcast with local showers and isolated thunderstorms. Winds will generally be southwesterly to northwesterly, light to moderate in the morning, 3 to 4 Beaufort, gradually strengthening by noon to moderate to strong, 4 to 5 Beaufort. The sea will initially be somewhat rough, gradually becoming generally slightly rough. Temperatures will rise to around 26 degrees inland, along the eastern and southern coasts, around 24 degrees along the western and northern coasts, and around 15 degrees in the higher mountainous areas.

Tomorrow night, there will be locally increased cloud cover, which may bring isolated showers in the west and north. Winds will be mainly southwesterly to northwesterly, light to moderate, 3 to 4 on the Beaufort scale. The sea will be generally slightly rough.

On Thursday, the weather will be cloudy at times, mainly due to mid-level and high clouds that are expected to bring light local showers. After noon, however, developing clouds will bring isolated showers, with the possibility of isolated thunderstorms, mainly in the mountains and the southeast.

On Friday, the weather will be mostly cloudy, with occasional local showers and isolated thunderstorms expected. On Saturday, there will be increased local cloud cover, which is expected to bring isolated showers or even thunderstorms after noon, mainly in the mountains and in areas south of the Troodos Mountains.

Temperatures will drop through Saturday, falling below the seasonal average.
