Victor Wembanyama delivered one of the most impressive individual performances in the NBA in recent years, leading the Spurs to a dramatic 112-111 victory over the Mavericks.
The French superstar set a new career high with 52 points, grabbed 24 rebounds, and blocked 8 shots, completing a stat line that had never before been recorded with those numbers in NBA history.
In 34 minutes of play, he went 16-for-28 from the field, 1-for-8 from three-point range, and 19-for-23 from the free-throw line, while adding two assists, two steals, and just one turnover. Of his 24 rebounds, nine were offensive, and he finished the game with a +23 plus/minus.

Wembanyama also became only the second player since blocks have been officially recorded as a statistic in the NBA to finish a game with at least 50 points, 20 rebounds, and five blocks. The previous player to do so was Bob McAdoo in February 1974.
His performance began in the first half, during which he had already tallied 29 points, 15 rebounds, and five blocks, showing early on that he was having a special night.
A defining moment came in the second quarter, when the 22-year-old recorded three blocks in just 13 seconds, turning consecutive Mavericks attempts into a one-man defensive show.
The game was decided in the final possessions. Wembanyama sank a free throw that gave San Antonio the lead, while on the final possession, Kyrie Irving failed to make the shot that would have given Dallas the win.
