An unimaginable family tragedy unfolded on Tuesday afternoon in Pittsburgh, U.S., when 42-year-old Patrick Lynch threw his his two children—8-year-old James and 6-year-old Caroline—and then jumped to his death.
According to the medical examiner’s report, the two children suffered multiple injuries as a result of their father throwing them off the building.
The 42-year-old father and his two children were found dead outside a parking lot in the Mount Lebanon area, a suburb of Pittsburgh.
It remains unclear what led the 42-year-old to kill his children and then take his own life.
According to local reports citing an interview with her mother in 2025, little Caroline had been suffering from a rare genetic disorder since the first months after her birth: Williams syndrome, which affects development, cognitive functions, and the cardiovascular system, as well as causing heart and lung problems.
