“Thank you for everything you’ve given to the national team, your country, and all of us. You take with you this entire history that no one will ever be able to repeat and no one will ever be able to erase, since you are the greatest of all time. With admiration, respect, and friendship… We’ve shared great moments together—great joys, but also some less pleasant ones, as happens in all human relationships—but one thing that will never change is our respect and friendship.”
