The belief that the most realistic solution to the Cyprus problem lies in the coexistence of two states on the island and that the recognition of the inherent rights of the Turkish Cypriot “people” —including sovereign equality and equal international status—is a prerequisite for a just and lasting solution, as expressed by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, on the X platform.

In a post tonight marking the conclusion of his working visit to the occupied territories—which he described as extremely productive— Mr. Fidan wrote on his personal X account that they always prioritize the security, development, and prosperity of the Turkish Cypriot “people.”

“As the ‘motherland’ and ‘guarantor power,’ we continue to support our Turkish Cypriot brothers and sisters in building their own future in a free, safe, and prosperous manner,” he noted.

“We emphasize once again that the international community must take into account the legitimate expectations of the Turkish Cypriots and the existing realities on the island,” he added.

“Turkey, in line with the vision once again expressed by our President at the UN General Assembly, will continue to defend the rights and interests of the Turkish Cypriot people on every platform and to strengthen its solidarity with the TRNC in all areas,” the Turkish Foreign Minister noted.

Hakan Fidan thanked “our Turkish Cypriot brothers and sisters for their warm hospitality” and congratulated them in advance on the 43rd anniversary of the founding of the “TRNC,” on November 15.

He also noted that he met with Tufan Erhurman, Ünal Ustel, and Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu to discuss “bilateral relations and recent developments in the Cyprus issue.”
