AEK and Panathinaikos fought a hard battle on the court at SUNEL Arena, with the “Greens” dominating down the stretch, however, and thanks to a spectacular performance by Badio, they secured an 83-74 victory in the 6th round of the Stoiximan GBL.
A Panionios team plagued by a thousand problems stood toe-to-toe with Panathinaikos, despite Brown’s injury—which appears to be serious and involves his Achilles tendon—as well as Flionis’s abdominal issue. Essentially, AEK finished the game with a rotation of seven players, which Dragan Sakota tried to manage.
The “Clover,” though it struggled, found its footing in the fourth quarter, capitalized on its dominance, and sealed the victory once and for all, returning to winning ways after their loss to Aris in Thessaloniki (101-91) in domestic competition.
The standout of the game was Bandio, who finished with 25 points and grabbed five rebounds. On the other side, Bartley put on an outstanding performance, scoring 19 points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Quarter scores: 19-14, 40-37, 55-58, 74-83
