He’s still trying to figure out what happened… Harry Kane spoke to France Football about winning the Ballon d’Or and admitted that even now, a few days later, he hasn’t fully grasped what he’s accomplished.
“I don’t think I’ve—fully—grasped what happened… I’m still trying… To be honest, it’s pretty hard to fully grasp the significance of an award like this, of such an honor, especially when you’re still an active player. “You have to look at Cristiano, Messi, and all the great stars of the past to understand what this really means,” he said, adding:
“I was nervous. Really nervous. My heart was pounding. The pressure you feel before a big, important game is different when you know how much a single goal of yours can affect the outcome. The moment Ronaldo announced the winner, I felt the tension I’d been feeling for the last twenty minutes melt away. When he said my name, I felt all my emotions at once. Relief, joy… I didn’t know how to react. It was something different; I’d never felt anything like that before,”
