The organizers of the Halloween party in Limassol—which resulted in 13 minors being taken to the hospital after consuming alcohol—were summoned to give statements. The business owner, who is reportedly responsible for the property where the party took place, was also summoned to give a statement. According to what the Limassol Assistant Police Director of Operations, Lefteris Kyriakou, the party was originally scheduled to take place in a different venue; however, at the last minute, the organizers informed the students that the venue had changed and that the event would take place at a nightclub on Limassol’s coastal boulevard. This is a summer venue that is currently closed for the season, but the business owner and organizer appears to have rented the space to host this party.
The high school students had already prepaid for their admission tickets, and the party was organized by private individuals and open to anyone who had secured a ticket, without being limited exclusively to students from specific schools. According to statements made by the Police Headquarters’ Press Spokesperson, Byron Vyronos, on the “Alpha Enimerosi” program, based on the statements the police have on file, it appears that after the venue for the party was changed, the organizers invited those who already had tickets to attend the new location.

“Admission to such venues, which serve alcoholic beverages, is prohibited for individuals under the age of 17, and serving alcoholic beverages to individuals under the age of 18 is also prohibited. They had been informed that there would be no alcohol, which apparently changed. The police were notified when at least 13 minors were taken to hospitals in Limassol after consuming alcohol. The children received first aid and were discharged.”
These are children aged 15, 16, and 17, who had to be transported to various hospitals in the city. Meanwhile, a 16-year-old is being treated at Makarios Hospital for a skull fracture; he was also among the minors who attended the Halloween party in Limassol.

“We launched an investigation on our own initiative, and parents have already provided statements. The organizers and the venue owner have been summoned to give statements so we can determine what offenses may have been committed. Let us remind everyone of our shared responsibility to know where our children are and what dangers they may face. Furthermore, the owners and managers of these establishments must enforce strict rules and not allow minors to consume alcoholic beverages.”
As for the circumstances under which minors consumed alcohol, according to witness accounts, there were initially no alcoholic beverages on the tables. Later, however, bottles of alcohol were placed on the tables alongside juices, which the children then consumed. Commotion ensued when some minors began to feel ill, causing panic to break out and several children to rush out of the nightclub. During the incident, the 16-year-old who is currently being treated at Makareio Hospital also appears to have been injured.
