The rain won’t let up, and the dust is returning: The weather forecast through Monday

The barometric low is weakening, but the rainy conditions persist
ALPHANEWSLIVE

The barometric low is moving eastward and weakening, while a weak low-pressure system is expected starting tomorrow.

Tonight, there will be periods of increased cloud cover, and isolated showers are expected, particularly along the coast and in the western half of the island. Winds will be mainly southwesterly to northwesterly, light to moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort, and initially strong on the windward side, 4 to 5 Beaufort, later weakening to light, 3 Beaufort. The sea will remain slightly rough to rough, and temporarily rough in the west. Temperatures will drop to around 12 degrees inland, around 16 on the western coast, around 15 degrees on the northern coast, around 13 degrees on the rest of the coast, and around 5 degrees in the higher mountainous areas.

Tomorrow, the weather will initially be mostly clear, but increased cloud cover will gradually develop locally, possibly bringing isolated showers, especially in the mountains. Winds will be southwesterly to northwesterly and locally northerly, light and occasionally locally moderate, 3 to 4 Beaufort. The sea will be slightly rough at first and, in the west, slightly rough to rough, before becoming slightly rough later on. Temperatures will reach around 24 degrees inland and along the coast, and around 13 degrees in the higher mountainous areas.

Tomorrow night, there will be locally increased cloud cover at times, which may bring isolated showers along the coast, while at intervals there will also be increased high cloud cover. Winds will be mainly downslope, light, at 3 Beaufort, and the sea will be calm to slightly rough.

On Saturday, there will be periods of increased high cloud cover; however, locally increased cloud cover in the afternoon is expected to bring isolated showers or even a brief, isolated thunderstorm. On Sunday, isolated showers or thunderstorms are expected after noon, particularly in the mountains, inland, and in northern areas.

On Monday, the weather will be cloudy at times, mainly with mid-level and high clouds, while light dust will be suspended in the atmosphere.

Temperatures on Saturday are not expected to change significantly, however, by Monday they will rise slightly, though they will continue to hover near average seasonal values.
