The police investigation is ongoing regarding the wedding-related drifting incident that occurred during rush hour at a roundabout in Limassol, while the two individuals who were arrested, the groom and the best man, are expected to appear in court today.

Speaking on the “Alpha Kalimera” show, Limassol Traffic Police Chief Marios Charalambous stated that further arrests cannot be ruled out later today.

Regarding the arrest of the two men, Mr. Charalambous stated that they are in custody and will be brought before a judge later today.

According to him, upon their arrest, the two claimed that it was a reckless act, the seriousness of which they realized after the incident.

When asked whether this specific act had also occurred at other stations besides the Linopetra roundabout, Mr. Charalambous stated that there is relevant information, but so far there is nothing concrete.

It should be noted that in the video circulating online, vehicles can be seen blocking a roundabout in Limassol and performing dangerous maneuvers—namely, drifting— during rush hour, while vehicles driven by other motorists form traffic jams stretching for kilometers.

As part of the investigation, the following offenses are being examined, among others: the offenses of negligent and reckless conduct, reckless and dangerous driving, blocking the road without a permit from the competent authority, and obstructing traffic.
