Stefanos Tsitsipas is set to take the court at the Paris Masters. The Greek champion, ranked No. 34 in the world, will face American Lerner Tien, ranked No. 19 in the world, in their first-round match (12:00).
Tsitsipas wants to put his semifinal exit in Almaty behind him and have a strong run in Paris, earning valuable ranking points and gaining a significant psychological boost for the rest of the season.
His task, however, is far from easy. The 20-year-old Tien is in excellent form, having climbed to No. 19 in the world rankings.
The American stands out for the quality of his shots from the baseline and his athleticism—qualities that make him a particularly dangerous opponent.
The two have met once before, in May 2026, in the round of 16 in Geneva. On clay, the American prevailed 2-0 in a match decided by the finest of margins, as both sets went to a tiebreak.
