The death of an 80-year-old woman in Thessaloniki is turning into a thriller; she was found dead on Saturday inside her home in Halastra.
According to reports, the woman was initially found by her daughter, who called the ambulance service (EKAV), and the police were subsequently notified. When police officers arrived at the home, they found that the elderly woman had head injuries, while inside the house was her 90-year-old husband, who was also injured on the head and arm.

Since the elderly man suffers from dementia, he was unable to explain to the police exactly what had happened, how his wife lost her life, or how he himself had been injured.
The 90-year-old is being treated under guard at Papageorgiou Hospital, as the prosecutor ordered his arrest while the investigation into the case is ongoing.
Among other things, police are searching for evidence that will shed light on what unfolded inside the home, including the possibility that a third party may have broken in beforehand.
