Moments of tension unfolded in Seattle, U.S., when fireworks exploded just a short distance from a Black Hawk military helicopter, which was flying alongside four others over a packed stadium shortly before the start of an NFL game.
The incident occurred on Monday evening (November 2), at Lumen Field, before the Seattle Seahawks’ game against the Chicago Bears, while approximately 70,000 fans were watching the opening ceremony.
Videos circulating on social media capture the moment the fireworks were launched from the stadium and exploded right next to the military helicopter, causing cries of terror in the stands.
It all happened during the performance of the U.S. national anthem, when four UH-60M Black Hawk military helicopters flew low over the stadium.
The first three passed without incident; however, while the fourth helicopter was still hovering over the stadium, the event’s fireworks were set off.
The explosions occurred extremely close to the helicopter, with the footage giving the impression that the aircraft was in danger of being struck. Despite the incident, the pilot continued the flight, and the helicopter safely departed, following the rest of the military aircraft.
No injuries or damage were reported, and it has not been confirmed whether any of the fireworks or their debris came into contact with the helicopter.
