Odysseas Michailidis, president of the Alma Movement, was plunged into deep mourning following the death of his father, Filippos, at the age of 85.
In a post, Odysseas Michaelides bids farewell to his father, noting that “there is no greater blessing for a person than to grow up surrounded by love, with two wonderful parents.”
“Dad, you were the one who taught your children and grandchildren to say ‘I love you’; you were a beacon of love; you were the friend, the protector, the teacher—a true FATHER. I was always proud when people spoke to me about your integrity, your dedication to public service, and your legal battles for meritocracy in the public sector.”
“In a week, you would have turned 86. But you were in a hurry to leave. You sensed the end was coming and sought release from your bed of pain. You have been set free. Mom, who loved you so deeply, is waiting for you. At least she’ll have you now,” adds Mr. Michailidis.
“I will always love you. I will always love both of you. Have a safe journey! May you rest in peace.”
