A special 48-hour celebration begins today (Nov. 7) for APOEL, which is marking its 100th anniversary. To mark the historic anniversary of its founding on November 8, 1926, the “blue-and-yellows” are preparing to celebrate a century of history with a series of events.
The festivities will begin in the afternoon with a torchlight procession organized by PAN.SY.FI. APOEL. The route will start at the club’s first headquarters and end at its current location, covering a distance of 2.6 kilometers. The flame will be carried by athletes from all sections of the Nicosia team, including prominent figures who have made their mark on the club’s history.
The existing building will host a special exhibition of photographs and memorabilia, while the Association’s Fan Day will take place simultaneously, giving the team’s fans the opportunity to participate in the celebrations.
The countdown will culminate at midnight on Saturday, as the day changes and Sunday, November 8, begins. The club’s centennial is expected to be marked by a spectacular celebration, befitting this historic moment for APOEL.
