Lazaros Rota spoke in particularly sharp tones after AEK’s match against Real Madrid, sending a clear message to a specific person, without naming the person in question.
The AEK defender reacted to statements that, as he claimed, were made at his expense or at the expense of his teammates, making it clear that he has never done the things he is accused of. At the same time, he called for respect toward the players and warned that, if there is another reference to him or a teammate, his reaction will be different.

Here is what Rota said in detail:
“A gentleman goes on TV and speaks. Before he speaks—and whatever he has to say about any player—he should think twice, because these things aren’t right. He knows who I’m referring to. I’ve never made a statement like that.
The next time he talks about me or one of my teammates, we’ll take a different approach. I know he’s a veteran player here, but there has to be respect for all of us, just as there was for him. I don’t want to say anything else; he knows what I mean.”
