Today (10/25) marks the end of the fourth round of the Stoiximan GBL, with Olympiacos traveling to Patras to face Promitheas at 1:00 p.m.
The “Red-and-Whites” have started their domestic campaign in the Greek league with a perfect record, having defeated Heraklis, Kolossos, and Vikos Ioannina in the first three rounds. The Piraeus-based team, however, is coming off its first home loss in the EuroLeague and its second overall, as on Friday (10/23) they were hampered by absences against Fenerbahçe, losing 61-64 and dropping to 5-2. Giorgos Bartzokas’s team will face the Patras squad with a long list of absences.
Specifically, the injured Evan Fournier and Nikos Plotas are out, as are the suspended Tyler Dorsey and Tyrique Jones. The participation of Jan Montero remains in doubt, as he is dealing with ankle and knee issues, and his return has not been confirmed. Meanwhile, Cory Joseph, Bryant Dunston, and John Konchar are not included on the registered list of foreign players for the Greek league.
On the other hand, the home team has one win and two losses in its first three games. Specifically, they lost at home to Peristeri and Panathinaikos, but are coming off their first win of the season, a victory in Lefkada against Doxa. As for the FIBA Europe Cup, they are coming off a home victory against Batumi, improving their record to 2-1, and are riding a wave of confidence.
