Maria Sakkari is preparing for her debut at the WTA 1000 in Cincinnati, the last major tournament before the U.S. Open.
The Greek tennis player, ranked No. 32 in the world, will face Kamila Rakhimova, No. 82 in the world, with the match scheduled for late Saturday night (August 15).
The match will close out the schedule on Court 4 and is expected to begin shortly before midnight.
Sakkari holds the upper hand in their head-to-head record against Rahimova, having won all three of their previous matches against the Russian.
The winner will advance to the round of 32, where a particularly difficult challenge awaits her. There, she will face either Iga Swiatek, who is coming off a title win in Montreal, or the Colombian Emiliana Arango, No. 95 in the world rankings.
