Kalamata celebrated its first victory in the Stoiximan Super League, defeating Volos 3-1 in Matchday 4 and reaching four points in the league. The Black Storm found themselves trailing in the first half, but in the second half, they dramatically stepped up their performance and, led by the formidable Ahmad Mentes Moreira, turned the game on its head.
Volos took the lead in the 26th minute on a goal by Matías González, in a first half with few highlights, but Kalamata had its chances to score the equalizer. In the second half, the home team came out more determined, tied the game in the 59th minute with a goal by Eric Hamza, and continued to press for a complete comeback.
That came in the 84th minute, when Moreira set up the play brilliantly and Giovanni Bolívar sent the ball into the net, completing a remarkable comeback for the team from Messinia. Hamza, with his second goal of the match in stoppage time, set the final score at 3-1 and sealed his team’s victory.
Thus, Kalamata earned three valuable points and now has 4 points, leaving Volos with 2 points after 4 matches.
